This photograph taken at the Kokerboom Observatory in Springbok through the 12″ Newtonian reflector at around 00:00 the morning on the 18th of June 2009. In this photograph, the halo around the nucleus of the Sombrero can clearly be seen. This galaxy is 30 million light years from us. It is receding from us at 1000 km’s each second!
